“My daughter got to grade 35 but she got no placement, but her friend who got 39 got first choice”-a caring mother laments

A video circulating after the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) contains a woman who was complaining about how her child was not placed in any Senior High School after getting an aggregate of 35 but her friend who got a grade of 39, was placed in her first choice.

In an interview with U tv, one of the leading broadcasting networks in Ghana, she said her ward has been sad ever since the result came out and even the study of her child is even surprised with the results because he thought the student was too get a nice grade but things did not work out as expected. The mother said her ward chose Aggrey Memorial, Mfantsiman, and Aburi Girls’

According to reports and communique from the Ghana Education Service (G.E.S), Junior high school students who participated in the just-ended exams and got grades 6 to 35 would be placed in one of the four schools they selected and those who would be graded above 35 will need to do self-placement (it means the G.E.S will give to some list of school available for you to choose from but in this woman’s case her daughter was supposed to get a placement while her daughter’s friend was to do self-placement but things changed.

This video has got a lot of people talking about the woman supporting her daughter even after she did not get a good grade and others are also siding with the mother.
